I send my daughter to Horizon Science Middle and she and I love it. I love that she goes here because I can see the difference between her and the neighborhood kids. And believe it or not I also see the difference in her family members. She loves waking up going to school and that’s good when you have a middle school child who wants to go to school even on test day. The teachers care and take the time out to help them achieve their goals. And I also know that when I drop her off at school she is safe and learning to become a responsible adult. I wouldn’t know what I would do without Horizon Science Academy. I wish I would have had the opportunity to have sent her to the elementary.

Horizon Science Academy truly cares about the success of their students. HSA understands that every child can be successful and finds the way that child learns. HSA has a small class which enables the staff to know the child and encourages parent involvement in the education and discipline in the school.
Our child came to HSA from public school with several areas of needed improvement. HSA has assisted and supported our child and with HSA and her parents supporting her academically and behaviorally she will be successful.

HSA Middle School is a nice alternative to traditional public school in an urban city. The teachers are very dedicated, the culture is very diverse and the school is very safe. The buses don’t come as close to us as the public school buses would have, but it’s something we can deal with. My child is very smart and I wanted him in a smaller school with uniforms to keep away from gangs and crazy behavior. This seems to be working well and my son loves it.

After being in the cps system with little result, I enrolled my child in HSA middle school for his 8th grade year and has seen tremendous results in almost all of his classes, he is still struggling with a few classes but i think he has really flourished in HSA. I would like to keep that going if possible.

In Horizon Science Academy, it is like the best middle school in Ohio. It’s like god sent a little of heaven so he can show us what heaven looks like. It has the best school lunches and breakfast. They even got camras everywhere. I’am everywhere. The classes, the hallway, outside, even in the bathroom.  I think. Good. Then that means they got a lot of money to get camras.
They got some good teachers and classes. My favorite class is Spanish because we learn Spanish. This the best Jr.High yet. I can’t wait to go to Horizon High School.

I finally got used to another new school and 4 months later mu mom gave me the news that we were going to move AGAIN which meant another new school and another new neighborhood. I didn’t want to move because I just got used to the school but I couldn’t stay.
I came to Horizon around the beginning of November. At first I didn’t like the school but after I came through the front doors it didn’t look bad a all. It’s true when they say ” don’t judge a book by its cover.”  If you start coming to this school you will really like it because when I came all the kids were sweet and very nice. The teachers will help you with whatever you need. You can participate in afterschool activities.

The uniforms are not a big deal because they actually look good after you start wearing them you also could get free things such as McDonalds, laptops, a free Kings Island tickets and so on. Only if you pass your OAA or Concepts. There are also other rewards. There are many field trips and they are very fun. You might like this school if you give it a chance. I am going to be here next year.

I originally came to this school because it was a better school than the one in my neighborhood. Horizon is a great school. It has fun field trips and cool afterschool clubs. Horizon prepares your for OAA with Concept Practice Test. You get to compete in the schools science fair, and other wonderful competitions such as the Math Olympics. One thing Horizon has that other schools doesn’t is Turkish as a foreign language. Which they also have a trip for Turkey for 7th and 8th graders. They also care about you and your opinions. They have home visits to meet students and their family. Horizon is a good choice for schools.

I went to this school because my mom said that HSA had better academics. When my mom and I came to the school we met Mr.Monett and Mr.Clarke. I knew that I was going to like this school. Another reason why I like the school now is because I know more about the students, the teachers and that the classes are more challenging. This school has a lot of perks about it like if you need help in a class there is tutoring, it is a brand new school. it has foreign language and it has a lot of cool clubs like Book Club, Spelling Bee Club or Environmental Club. This school has a lot of great things to do. So have fun and work hard.

I came to this school because my mom wanted my education to be a good one. At my old school we had a bunch of students. Something things got way too distracting for us and the students there didn’t even care. When we first for the brochure for this school I thought I wouldn’t like it at all with the address code I thought the kids wouldn’t be happy. I got involved in many fun activities at this school. The uniforms didn’t sound good at first but now I am happy we wear them. The teachers care for the education that I am getting. Over all I am proud of being an HSA student and I am happy I came here.

I first came here because I chose to. The things I like a lot about this school is that we have uniforms so that everyone is equal and no one gets talked about. Another good thing about this school is that we have both a clean and safe environment. That way, it is  able for you to remain calm and relax. There are also many people here so that no one gets left out. This way we are able to get a sense of unity. We also have a lot of tests that help us perform and improve our abilities, and prepare us for college. Also the teachers are nice and very understanding.

After school tutoring,

I stay for tutoring at Horizon Science Academy. Tutoring helps me improve better. It helps me with everything. I stay on Wednesday for Mrs.Roger’s and sometimes Mr.Omer, my Math teacher. They help me with my homework and unfinished work. Staying for tutoring is fun and you would become smarter.
I stay for tutoring on day that I really need help. I ask teacher if I can stay and finish my homework. I ask teachers to prepare me for the OAA. I stay to prepare for the next day. We play games sometimes after school at tutoring like tossing footballs and catch the balls. I like staying for tutoring. It’s fun and you get more education.

Awards at H.S.A
The award I earned for getting a 3.0 G.P.A was a Merit Roll award. I loved the way they recognized people in this school for there hard work.
This encourages and motivates me to work harder to get bigger, better award next time. When received this award, I felt proud of my hard work. I felt happy to have a chance to have my name on the Merit Roll list.
There are many awards that I’ve earned this year but this one meant the most to me. I know that when I come back to H.S.A next year I will do better because I have realized the importance of my hard work.

My field trip to Hocking Hills
Some of the best times at Horizon are the field trips. They don’t have it on the weekdays nor for two hours. Horizon’s field trips are on Saturdays from around 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. I know what your thinking: “Why should I wake up early in the morning for school?,” Did you ever think about how much fun you would actually have?
It was back in November when I first came to Horizon Science Academy and when I first had a field trip for a really long time because most schools don’t have field trips that often. I was going there for at least a week and then I got the permission slip signed for Hocking Hills. It was really fun because I got to get to know my fellow classmates and I made friends, too.
On the way there and back I learned something that no matter what you look like or how crazy you are, people won’t really judge you. We climbed rocks, wrote on them, hiked in the mountains, laughed, learned, and ate. Most of all, I had fun. We took pictures so it wouldn’t be forgotten.
That’s not the only field trip we did but that’s one of the one’s I learned from. Horizon takes field trips on Saturdays because instead of only having two hours on a weekdays you could having out with your friends at a safe and fun place.
