Girls Who Code

An Exciting New Program Has Arrived at HSA!

Last month our teachers were presented with an opportunity to begin a “Girls Who Code” club. This opportunity not only serves as a way for our girls to learn to code, but it also serves as a mentorship opportunity. Coding is “the process of using a programming language to get a computer to behave how you want it to.” Coding can also help our students improve their math, science, and problem solving skills. In an increasingly digital age this is an amazing opportunity for our future engineers or a start of a great hobby.Although, this opportunity is for female students only, there are many programs in Columbus and online to start your child in coding. So far more than 5 of our teachers have signed up and will be starting clubs soon. Here are the teachers who have started clubs: Ms. Rogers, Mrs. Ali (Science), Mrs. Stiak, Mrs. Gibson,

Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Our programs educate, equip, and inspire girls with the computing skills they’ll need to pursue 21st century opportunities.
